GLOBALLY RENOWNED PHOTOGRAPHER CHEN MAN COMMISSIONED TO CREATE CELEBRATORY COLLECTION OF IMAGES FOR THE PENINSULA HONG KONG’s 90TH ANNIVERSARY

Extraordinary service has been a cornerstone of The Peninsula Hong Kong since day one, and the hotel’s staff are famed around the world for their attention to detail and heartfelt personal touches that make each and every guest feel special. As part of her 90th anniversary celebrations, Hong Kong’s Grande Dame is paying tribute to the contribution of her highly accomplished team and the countless stories they represent through a unique photography project in collaboration with iconic Chinese photographer and visual artist Chen Man.

Celebrating the many friendships, emotional connections and memorable moments the hotel has witnessed over the years, Chen Man has been commissioned to photograph 10 specially selected groups of staff categorised by various themes. These include women excelling in male-dominated professions; families who have passed the torch of The Peninsula persona proudly to their next generation; veteran staff who now harvest what they sowed decades ago; and brave individuals who have succeeded against the odds at the hotel, which has lovingly taken them under its wing.

The celebratory campaign will commence this month:

Week of 12 Nov

The premier of the dazzling images will be displayed on The Peninsula Hong Kong’s official social media

Week of 19 Nov

A selection of candid, behind-the-scenes moments will be presented on social media for a sneak peek of the supportive and caring atmosphere at the hotel.

Week of 26 Nov

A video featuring The Peninsula staff sharing their pride at making the hotel Hong Kong’s home for 90 years will be aired on the hotel’s Facebook page while the full collection will be published on the official website.

The finale of the campaign of precious memories will be a special commemorative edition of The Peninsula Magazine – the exclusive publication owned by The Peninsula Hotels – to be published in late November, which will recount some of the incredible stories surrounding the company’s devoted staff and give guests a never-before-seen glimpse into the world of the people who make Hong Kong’s iconic symbol of hospitality tick.
