A time to celebrate
The festive season is the perfect time to take a break from our fast-paced lives and make memories with loved ones. For nearly a century, the Peninsula name has embodied an elegant combination of tradition, glamour, innovation and unparalleled service. Today, this unrivalled mix ensures our hotel remain the ideal venue for celebrating the most important moments in life.
To help our guests truly enjoy this festive season, The Peninsula Shanghai has created a range of activities that will make celebrating this year’s holiday an experience they will never forget.
‘Stories from the Tree’
Taking inspiration from festive traditions around the globe, the festive season will be brought to life under the new theme ‘Stories from the Tree.’ Six colourful characters – including the nutcracker, gingerbread man and red-breasted robin – will adorn giant Christmas trees in each of our grand hotel lobbies, as well as the abundant decorations that will brighten each property.
Festive-themed Afternoon Tea packages will also be available to book, with a further US$5 being donated to Make-A-Wish Foundation and Shanghai K Charitable Foundation which supports the Sir Horace Kadoorie Youth Development Centre from each sale.
The Peninsula Shanghai offers a glittering schedule of events and promotions to make the festive season special for all the family. Ranging from an extravagant Tree Lighting Ceremony in The Lobby, exclusive weekend brunch and kids afternoon tea at Michelin-starred Sir Elly’s Restaurant, special festive hampers from The Peninsula Boutique and much more, the hotel will be a hub of Bund-side holiday cheer throughout the festive period.
This year’s festivities at The Peninsula Shanghai commence with a Tree Lighting Ceremony and cocktail reception at The Lobby on 23 November, 2018. Set within the beautifully decorated interiors of The Lobby, invited guests will be treated to a spectacular array of Christmas delights – made by The Peninsula’s very own culinary team – while sipping complimentary drinks and enjoying a live jazz singer and the talents of a local children’s choir.
From 23 November, festive dinner vouchers will be available for purchase in The Lobby from dedicated festive booths. This year, all offers will be available for purchase in the form of an e-gift card, which may be simply forwarded to the lucky recipient and later redeemed online, giving gift-givers an added layer of ease and convenience. Customers may also choose to purchase gifts on the Weidian online store – a platform that proven to be wonderfully popular with new and existing Peninsula patrons.
The Lobby and Sir Elly’s restaurant will be the shining stars of The Peninsula Shanghai’s festive gastronomic offerings. Both restaurants will offer spectacular traditional Christmas dinners from 22 to 24 December, providing family, friends, colleagues and more a wonderfully festive atmosphere to make lasting memories over the holidays.
