Hong Kong’s Grande Dame Celebrates Her 90th Anniversary With ‘The Peninsula World Tour’, Featuring Signature Creations From Peninsula Hotels Across The Globe
A legend in Hong Kong, Asia and around the world, The Peninsula has been synonymous with the enjoyment of the very finest things in life since 1928. This year, in celebration of its 90th anniversary, Hong Kong’s Grande Dame is drawing on its illustrious culinary heritage and peerless network of sister properties to offer a delectable menu featuring signature creations from Peninsula hotels around the world, all presented in true Peninsula style.
Served in The Peninsula Hong Kong’s iconic Lobby, “The Peninsula World Tour” focuses on a different destination each month by offering a selection of unique culinary creations presented by a revolving roster of Peninsula hotels. Infused with elements and ingredients specific to each destination, these wide-ranging delights have been exclusively curated to give guests an authentic taste of some of the world’s most glamorous locations.
In April, the Big Apple takes centre stage with three alluring creations from The Peninsula New York. The ‘Matter of Grapes’ cocktail packs a zesty citrus punch, combining dry sack sherry, Hennessy VSOP, syrup, orange bitters and an orange peel garish to beguiling effect. For those who prefer an alcohol-free tipple, the ‘Clement Cocktail’ is a refreshing yet fruity mocktail made from a combination of fresh guava, pineapple and lime juices with agave nectar and a pineapple garnish.
The perfect accompaniment to these captivating concoctions is the ‘Upstate Harvest Bowl’ appetiser, a flavourful New York-style salad of organic mesclun greens, shaved vegetables, tomatoes, Hudson Valley goats’ cheese, fermented cauliflower and grain mustard vinaigrette.
In May, it’s the turn of The Peninsula Beijing to present a tantalising trio of indulgent treats. Blending Cinzano Bianco, Cinzano Rosso and homemade ginger syrup, and set off by a lime peel garnish, the ‘Torinese’ is the ideal cocktail to kick off the summer months. The Peach Fizz mocktail, meanwhile, is a non-alcoholic tour de force, mixing peach puree and peach syrup with lime juice and elderflower tonic, then garnished with small flowers and lemon peel. Complementing this dynamic duo is the ‘Chocolate Declination’ dessert, a personalised chocolate mousse featuring milk chocolate Chantilly and delicate chocolate petals.
The Peninsula World Tour doesn’t stop there however, and the promotion continues until the end of the year, with signature creations from The Peninsula Beverley Hills in June; The Peninsula Bangkok in July; The Peninsula Chicago in August; The Peninsula Tokyo in September; The Peninsula Shanghai in October; and, finally, The Peninsula Paris in November.
