THE PENINSULA HONG KONG RINGS IN THE YEAR OF THE DOG WITH A SELECTION OF ENTICING LUNAR NEW YEAR PROMOTIONS, MENUS AND SPECIAL OFFERS

Lunar New Year is the most important festival on the Chinese calendar, and nowhere celebrates it with greater aplomb than The Peninsula Hong Kong. With her storied history and iconic architecture, the city’s Grande Dame is set to welcome the New Year in signature style through a variety of special events, promotions and offers to celebrate the Year of the Dog.

The festivities begin with a traditional lion dance in The Lobby on Friday, 16 February 2018, the first day of the Lunar New Year. The celebrations continue throughout the hotel, with elaborate decorations featuring peach blossoms, red flowers and lanterns to symbolise good luck, as well as pink plum blossoms and kumquat bushes laden with golden-orange fruit to bring prosperity. These elegant adornments provide an auspicious backdrop against which guests can enjoy a beautifully crafted collection of curated experiences for all the family.

Adding a touch of signature élan to another cherished Lunar New Year tradition, The Peninsula is offering suite guests the opportunity to enjoy a tour around the city in the hotel’s customised MINI Clubman for up to three hours during their stay. According to Chinese tradition, locals embark on a journey around the city during Lunar New Year to bring luck and prosperity for the year ahead.  Known as the “Lucky Grand Tour”, it symbolises the completion of a full circle, and guests can enjoy their own “Lucky Ride” by visiting a variety of auspicious spots around town, with suggested locations including Wong Tai Sin Temple, where guests can “borrow fortune” from the Guan Yin, and The Peak, where the higher altitude is believed to bring better luck.

Those who wish to take their Lucky Grand Tour to even greater heights can book a “Fortune Flight”, a breathtaking helicopter tour around Victoria Harbour that shows off Hong Kong at its very best. Starting from HK$ 6,380, the “Fly High” package takes patrons on a whirlwind tour of timeless excellence, delicious fare and extraordinary memories.

The “Flying High” package includes:

  • Daily Traditional Peninsula Breakfast at The Lobby or Breakfast Buffet at The Verandah for up to two persons
  • One exhilarating 15-minute helicopter “flight-seeing” tour**

** This experience is a shared flight and the availability is subject to weather conditions. Should weather conditions be unsuitable for a scheduled helicopter tour, guests may reschedule within 60 days or instead select any 90-minute treatment at the award-winning Peninsula Spa. For safety reasons, children under 2 years old cannot join the helicopter tour.

Please note that the following terms and conditions apply:

  • This offer is valid for stays from now until 22 March 2018
  • A minimum stay of two consecutive nights is required
  • Rates are subject to 10% service charge per room per night and are based on single or double occupancy only
  • All value-added benefits are offered once per room per stay, subject to availability

  • Room check-in time is 2:00 pm and check-out time is 12:00 noon
