The perfect location for a romantic rendezvous on any day of the year, The Peninsula Hong Kong is bringing an extra touch of sparkle to St. Valentine’s Day 2017 with an alluring array of celebratory menus and delectable promotions.

Giving guests the rare opportunity to see a pair of master chefs at work before enjoying a special St. Valentine’s Day lunch menu, The Peninsula is offering unique cooking classes with two of its most acclaimed culinary talents, Gaddi’s Chef Xavier Boyer and Executive Pastry Chef Frank Haasnoot. Taking place on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 February 2017 only, this will be the first time that the two chefs have ever come together to host a cooking class.

The experience begins at 9:30 am with a hearty buffet breakfast before a cooking demonstration by the two chefs with the theme of St. Valentine’s in Paris – The City of Love. During the demonstration, each chef will prepare two dishes that reflect their respective culinary philosophies, while The Peninsula’s beverage manager will also be on hand to mix a celebratory cocktail. Chef Boyer will showcase some of the techniques that he uses to create his “modern classic” masterpieces at The Peninsula’s famed French fine-dining restaurant, while Chef Haasnoot will display the expert chocolatier skills that saw him named world champion at the prestigious World Chocolate Masters Competition in 2011. The cooking class will then be followed by a sumptuous lunch at 12:00 pm, either in the Garden Suite (10 February) or Gaddi’s (11 February).

Open to both hotel guests and members of the public, this special Valentine’s experience is priced at HK$ 1,380 per person per class and can be booked by calling +852 2696 6693 or e-mailing

St. Valentine’s Day Dinner at Felix

With its avant-garde décor courtesy of maverick French designer Philippe Starck and unrivalled views of Victoria Harbour, there are few more impressive settings for a Valentine’s Day meal than Felix. This year, The Peninsula’s fêted 28th-floor restaurant and bar is celebrating with a five-course St. Valentine’s Day dinner that includes Challans duck and duck liver terrine with rhubarb compote and chip; sautéed bacon-wrapped Hokkaido scallops with black truffle cream braised spinach gnocchi; and poached Boston lobster with diced vegetables and marinière sauce. For the main course, diners have a choice between the enticing French turbot and shrimp mousse pie with Choron sauce or the expertly grilled Japanese A5 beef striploin with shallot-vinegar sauce and fricassee mushrooms in a potato case. Dessert is always a spectacular affair at Felix, and the St. Valentine’s menu climaxes with Pink Diamond, a playfully plated dish of pomegranate jelly and raspberry chocolate mousse with Sakura ice cream, followed by coffee or Peninsula teas and petits fours.

The Felix St. Valentine’s Day menu is available on 13 and 14 February 2017 only, is priced at HK$ 3,688 per couple (+10% service charge) and includes two glasses of Champagne served during dessert.

St. Valentine’s Day Dinner at Gaddi’s

With a reputation for culinary finesse that stretches back to 1953, Gaddi’s has been one of the most coveted St. Valentine’s Day reservations in Hong Kong for more than six decades. The much-loved French fine-dining restaurant continues that proud tradition with a special five-course St. Valentine’s Day dinner menu that demonstrates Chef Xavier Boyer’s creative take on Gallic cuisine to its fullest. The menu begins with Kristal caviar on a carrot mousseline with sea urchin, followed by Brittany scallop baked in its shell with young vegetables, and then poached turbot with truffle and celeriac. An indulgent main course of Scottish venison and duck liver pithiviers with truffle sauce precedes a delightful dessert of yuzu crémeux, lime and Champagne ice cream with yoghurt siphon and Champagne jelly, with coffee or Peninsula teas accompanied by Valentine’s chocolates and petits fours on hand to round out a memorable meal.

The Gaddi’s St. Valentine’s Day menu is available on 13 and 14 February 2017 only, is priced at HK$ 4,488 per couple (+10% service charge) and includes two glasses of Champagne served during dessert.
